Number Twelve

Song: "You ain't ever got krunk before
'Til you tear the club down with them country boys."

This is from some new rap song about Alabama that has Lynnard Skynard's "Sweet Home Alabama" as its chorus. I like it. Gotta give it up to that boy for singin' bout our home.

Recommended Reading: Moby Dick, Herman Melville

I've only read three chapters so far, but I'm already captivated. Moby Dick is considered by many literary critics to be the best American novel ever written. When I'm done, I might concur.

Number Eleven

Quote: "the ruin of such lives will gradually reach its complete consummation and sublimities of soul fade and wither away and become contemptible, when men are lost in admiration of their own mortal parts, and omit to exalt that which is immortal." (Longinus, "On the Sublime")

Recommended Reading: Typee, Herman Melville
